Jobs in New Brunswick

Finding quality employment will often be of prime importance for Visas, Residency and a good standard of living.

Many employers will not be aware of how quick and easy it is to employ a foreign worker in the province, so the key to finding employment is often to network and contact companies and organisations directly. UK 2 New Brunswick can help you with this via REDuk™.

REDuk™ is the online portal to showcase your employment skills to Canadian employers.

Generally, to be employed in the province, you need a Temporary Work Visa, Residency or Citizenship.

Labour Market Opinion and Temporary Work Visas

As a Non Resident, if you obtain a job offer, the EMPLOYER has to normally apply to Service Canada for a Labour Market Opinion (LMO) in order for a Temporary Work Visa to be issued. If this is issued (timelines vary, but normally within a 4-5 week period), it is up to the potential EMPLOYEE to apply for this visa from CIC (or with correct documentation, fees, a written job offer and LMO, when entering Canada). Open employment visas and study visas can also be applied for at this time.

New Brunswick Nominee Program (NBNP)

Once a LMO is issued, the employee can apply to the NSNP for full residency under the skilled worker stream.
To aid your search for jobs prior to landing please consider the following:

  • A Canadian Résumé format is usually more appealing to a Canadian employer.
  • Contact companies directly, both from the UK and while on a scouting trip.
  • Arrange as many interviews/meetings prior to visiting as possible.
  • Be aware of both Federal and Provincial employment and immigration requirements.
  • Upload your CV or Résumé to REDuk™.
