Living in New Brunswick will present you with a wide spectrum of leisure activities from which to choose. The more defined seasons in the province will of course have a great bearing on which activities are foremost during the year.

Sports

Generally speaking, sports will be based more on the US model, with Ice Hockey, American Football and baseball as staples. Other major sports include ice skating, golf, soccer and many more.

Hiking, walking and camping are also popular with a great array of provincial parks.

Kayaking and water sports also feature very highly during spring, summer and Autumn season.

There is a wide variety of gyms available but these tend not to include swimming pools. In summer, swimming is usually based around the lake culture but access to good quality pools at hotel facilities or large >community sport and leisure centres.

Winter sports include skiing at some specialised facilities. New Brunswick has a very good variety of superb golf courses; these are usually open from May to October but can extend seasons depending on the weather.

Music/ clubs / bars

New Brunswick boasts a very lively social and entertainment scene with many facilities throughout; from theatres, bars, top class restaurants to festivals and local events.

Children's activities

Children's recreation tends to be based around local facilities in non school times, with a huge volunteer based culture facilitating activities. Booking early is advisable. Access to booking facilities is normally available online from provincial or municipal websites.There is an abundance of sports and private clubs abound for children, as well as after school activities in all manner of leisure pursuits.
